Egypt's Dar al Iftaa announced that Monday, August 8, will mark the 1st day of Muharram month and beginning of the new Hijri year 1443.
On this occasion, the Islamic institution congratulated Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people.
It is worth mentioning that, on this day, Muslims celebrate 1443 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish, an Arab tribe Muhammad was part of, and to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.
