Andaleeb Zohdy Introduces Layered Custard Summer Dessert

Custard is one of the sweetest, cold, easy, and quick desserts that can be made without effort. It also tastes delicious and is a light recipe that will help beat the heat.

Food Blogger Andaleeb Zohdy introduces the custard layers treat to cool your body in the summer season.

Vanilla custard

1 1/2 cups milk (350 grams)

1 1/2 cups whipping cream (350 grams)

8 egg yolks

Less than half a cup of sugar (90 grams)

2 tablespoons + 1 small tablespoon of Starch (21 grams)

Vanilla

1/4 small spoon of salt

3 packets of jelly or more as desired

Put water according to what is written on the jelly package

Cream layer

1 1/4 cup whipping cream

1/4 cup of powdered milk to reach the desired consistency

Vanilla

2 tablespoons of powdered sugar

Season fruit

Savoiardi biscuits or cake

*Directions

Put the egg yolk in a pot and place the sugar and stir with a whisk until well combined, and then added the starch and continue to stir well until it melts, followed by salt and a little of the milk and cream mixture to blend it well in the egg yolk mixture.

Add the rest of the cream and milk to the pot on a medium fire and continue to stir until the mixture thickens and boils.

Remove the pot and put the mixture in another bowl to cool rapidly and cover it with cling film in order not to make a layer and place it in the fridge until it gets cold.

Open the jelly and follow its directions, then pour water from a half-full kettle to melt the jelly, and then we pour half of the cold water and put it in the fridge to become solid.

Decorate the top with Savoiardi biscuits or cake, and any fruit available, whether fresh or canned, and make layers of any desired shape.

Pour the first layer of jelly with fruits and put it in the fridge until it is solid, then place the Savoiardi biscuits with the custard, and then a layer of whipped cream with fruits on top.
