Culture Min. to Inaugurate Farouk Hosni Foundation`s Art Competition Expo

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Farouk Hosni Foundation for Culture and Arts will organize, next Tuesday, an art exhibition and a ceremony to announce the names of the winners of the Arts Prize 2020.

On this occasion Dr. Inas Abd Al-Dayem, the Minister of Culture, inaugurates an art exhibition that includes the works of the final stage of the competition, at the Gezira Art Centre in Zamalek.

During the ceremony, artist Farouk Hosni, the former Minister of Culture and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, will deliver a speech while a short film about Farouk Hosni Foundation for Culture and Arts, directed by Dr. Hani Abul Hassan, will be broadcast.

The jury will deliver a keynote as it will announce the artwork, which scooped the first prize, worth EGP 50, in the field of photography. The foundation will grant certificates of appreciation to nine other artworks.

Hosni said that the foundation seeks to build the Egyptian man and personality through supporting the creativity of the young people in various fields, pointing out: “We will work in the coming years on organizing other competitions in various branches of arts and culture to complete the Egyptian cultural painting."

The former Minister of Culture noted that the Foundation does not only offer a financial prize, but also helps artists in marketing their works through displaying them in a collective art exhibition.

The Foundation announced the first competition in the photography, as it received 453 artworks from young artists. The jury chose 71 of these artworks to participate in the final stage of the competition, through a collective art exhibition that runs until January 31.
