Culture Min. Attends 1st Departure Anniv. of Samir Seif

Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, honored the name of the late director Dr. Samir Seif during the celebration of the first anniversary of his departure, under the title "Samir seif : An Eternal Smile".

The celebration was organized by the Cultural Development Fund sector in cooperation with the Egyptian Opera House and the producing company of the film "Augustin ibn dmouha - Augustin the son of her tears," the last work of the late director .

The ceremony was attended by: Dr. Fathy Abdel Wahab, head of the cultural development Fund sector, Dr. Magdy Saber, head of the opera house, Henry Aoun, head of the of the film's producing company, in addition to an array of artists, media men and the lovers of the late director.

Abdel Dayem said that a year passed since the departure of the late Seif - the director and scriptwriter.

Abdel Dayem said that she appreciated Seif 's artistic career - his masterpieces, his films and series.

Afterwards, she added that she met and dealt with him in the Ministry of Culture during his presidency of the Egyptian National Film Festival, she found him a real professional creator whose personality carries all the characteristics of creativity.

She added that he enjoyed a calm smile, extreme modesty, encyclopedic culture with never-ending love for cinema.

During her speech , the minister of culture mourned the late genius, Seif, saying that words are unable to describe our feelings, especially as we commemorate the first anniversary of the departure of a creative friend, we all learnt from his experiences and his art, whether as recipients or participants who worked with him, gaining a lot from his decent responsibility.

She added that Seif dedicated us a beautiful, timeless and distinctive creativity which was craved in our memory.

Thus, he has become the milestones of the history of cinema in Egypt.

She confirmed that despite the departure of Seif - the teacher of direction - his works will remain prominent icons that treated many humanitarian and social issues in Egyptian society.

Moreover, the minister dedicated to his son, Danny Samir Seif, the shield of the Ministry of culture in a gesture of gratitude and appreciation to his artistic career that enriched Egyptian creativity movement.

In the same context, Henry Aoun, head of the film producing company, thanked the minister for her patronage of this celebration to mourn the wonderful artistic icon, Seif.

Aoun expressed his feelings of pride and gratitude as he considers himself as a faithful student of the late director, describing him as the greatest character that he has ever met.

He added that Seif taught him film production for more than 25 years ago, expressing his gratitude for all works that that the late creator had presented to art, artists and to the public in all parts of the Arab world.

He quoted some of the last works of Seif's movie "Augustine, the son of her tears," produced in cooperation with the Tunisian and Algerian ministries of culture, and with the support of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

Aoun added that Seif's works will always be seen on the screens of the Arab countries which are fond of his works.

On his part, Danny Samir Seif thanked the Minister of Culture for her keenness to honor the name of his late father, saying that today is a special occasion for his family; he greeted everyone who contributed to the success of this celebration, hailing the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and its sectors and the film producing company - "Augustine, the son of her tears."

It is worthy of note that the ceremony included presenting : a distinguished artistic performance which dealt with video clips of the late creative life and his most important artistic stations, presenting musical and lyrical performance , animated by "Cairo Orchestra ceremonial Ensemble" led by Maestro Nair Nagy.

The ceremony also included screening a documentary film prepared and directed by Albert Makram, the film dealt with the late artistic career, in addition to presenting the last work of the late creator, the film "Augustine the son of her tears", which is a joint Tunisian-Algerian production.

Seif is considered to be one of the most important directors of Egyptian cinema, who presented very distinguished works, such as "the films: Al-Mashbouh", staring Adel Imam and Souad Hosni. Due to the great success of this film.

He presented many important films for the great actor Adel Imam, including "The Tiger and the Female".

He cooperated with the late great stars: Mahmoud Abdel Aziz in the movie "The Pleasure Market", the late great star Ahmed Zaki in the movie "His Excellency the Minister", the late great star Nour Al-Sharif in the films "A Stranger in My Home" and "Mushroom".

It is worthy of note that Seif's first film as a director was " The Circle of Revenge" - produced in 1976, based on the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by the French writer Alexandre Dumas.

He wrote this film's story, script and dialogue with the participation of the scriptwriter Ibrahim Al-Moji, the film starring "Nour Al-Sharif, Mervat Amin, Shweikar, Youssef Shaaban and Salah Qabil."
