The Sultanate of Oman has decided to close the land ports for a week, as of tomorrow evening, due to the novel Coronavirus.
The Sultanate’s Supreme Committee said in a statement: ”An increasing number of citizens and residents have observed complacency in adhering to the precautionary measures adopted by the competent authorities, especially not wearing masks and holding gatherings with large numbers of people for social events in tents and other things, which may cause the virus to spread in the community.”
The statement added: "The Supreme Committee affirms that the concerned authorities continue to follow up on violators of its decisions and punish them, to protect community members from this disease, and to preserve what has been achieved.”
Noteworthy, Minister of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Saidi, received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday.
