Johns Hopkins University announced on Sunday that more than 274.2 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide.
On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 902 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 374,411.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 21,315 nationwide after the ministry announced 38 deaths.
About 903 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 311,637.
Noteworthy, Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said in a post on its official page on “Facebook” that the Coronavirus vaccine is safe, effective, and stimulates the immune system to form antibodies that protect the body from the virus.
Egypt’s vaccination campaign began in January with priority groups and later expanded to university students. Registration for the jab is open to all.
