Now, King Charles III is officially the head of the UK after wearing the St Edward's Crown by the Archbishop of Canterbury which is officially crowned.
The congregation chanted "God save the King", the abbey bells rang and a fanfare sounded.

Gun salutes were also fired across the UK to mark the moment.
The King was accompanied to his Throne Chair in the Theatre of Coronation, where he was enthroned.

The chairs were originally made for the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, in 1937.
The Archbishop of Canterbury led the words of fealty to the King on behalf of the Church.
Then, he was followed by the Prince of Wales, he knelt before the King and kissed his cheek.

The archbishop invited people in the abbey to pledge allegiance with the words: “I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God."
