COP27: Egypt Presents Its First Green Medical Facility

On the sidelines of the UN Climate Conference (COP27), a high-level session was held at the United Nations Pavilion, located in the Blue Zone, entitled (Green Health Facilities: Towards National Adaption Plan for Health Sector in Egypt).

The session reviewed the Ministry of Health's plans to establish green medical facilities, run with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

During the session, Dr. Wael Abdel-Razek, Head of the Primary Health Care and Nursing Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population, presented a model of the first-ever green medical facility in Egypt, which will offer inclusive healthcare services to the people of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The session was attended by Dr. Ahmed El Sobky, Head of the Public Authority for Health Care and Assistant Minister of Health and Population; Mr. Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt; Ms. Rossella Vanelli, Deputy Representative of the World Food Program and Dr. Moataz Saleh, Director of the Nutrition Program at UNICEF.
