Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the UAE delivered the Friday sermon today at the Kul Sharif Mosque, the largest mosque in Russia, as part of the fifth "Spiritual Silk Road" conference.
The conference is organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation in the city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, in cooperation with Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, during the period from July 25-26.
Also, Osama Al-Azhari, The Egyptian Minister of Endowments visited Mufti of Kazan Sheikh Kamel Samiullah, Head of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The visit comes on the sidelines of the Minister of Endowments' participation in the 5th Religious Silk Road conference entitled: "Significance of Religious Values in Greater Eurasia International Scientific and Theological” in Kazan.
The two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and the role of the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments in spreading Islamic culture in Russia and the world.
The Minister of Endowments stressed that this meeting is a good opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions on issues of interest to the Islamic affair and directed to send books and libraries to the Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation.
The minister promised to facilitate the selection of the most skilled professors in the sciences of the Holy Quran at Al-Azhar University to help in drawing the Quran in Tatarstan, based on the request of the head of the administration.
