On Monday, Comedian Kathy Griffin announced on Twitter that she will undergo surgery for lung cancer.
Moreover, she said that doctors are optimistic as she may avoid chemotherapy. Griffin added that she will have to remove half of her left lung.
In a statement released by the 60-year-old artist, Griffin asserted: "The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung. Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing."
Her fellow actor Mia Farrow responded to the news, saying, "A major, scary ordeal but they will remove it and you will be just fine. In the meantime i will keep you in my prayers dear Kathy."
