UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Sunday that arming Ukraine to defend itself against Russia is the "fastest way" to peace.
In press remarks, Cleverly said that he was pleased that Germany and the U.S. had joined the U.K. in sending modern tanks to Ukraine, stressing, “Giving the Ukrainians the tools they need to finish the job is the swiftest and indeed the only path to peace."
Cleverly's statements come before his scheduled visit to Malta set for Tuesday. The Russian-Ukrainian war is expected to dominate the talks between UK and Malta.
