Clashes have erupted between armed groups near the Bir al-Ghanam Bridge and on Khartoum Street in the Libyan city of Zawiya, according to local sources cited by the Libyan News Agency.
The Libyan Red Crescent has issued an urgent appeal for an immediate ceasefire, calling on the warring parties to halt hostilities and allow for a humanitarian pause. This would enable emergency teams to evacuate Libyan families trapped in the conflict zones.
In its appeal, the Libyan Red Crescent also called on Libyan security authorities to cooperate with its efforts, expressing hope that the parties involved in the conflict would respond positively. The organization emphasized, "Families are calling for help and are innocent victims of this violence."
The Red Crescent stressed that emergency teams, medical staff, and ambulances should not be targeted during the clashes, underscoring the importance of protecting humanitarian workers who are trying to assist those in need.
