CIBF Cultural Activities: Get to Know 1st Day Program

The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) organizers posted the full schedule of the event's cultural activities for the 52nd edition on Wednesday.

Starting from tomorrow, the events are various to address all people, some of them are about archaeology, and others are dedicated to children. Moreover, there are various book and movie discussions, alongside theatrical shows and film screenings. All activities will start at 10 am and the final event of the day will start at 10 pm.

Regarding the first day's program is as the following:

From 10 am to 12 pm is "Atfalna" (Our Children) program that carries various activities for children such as fine arts talk with Ismail El Nazer, followed by a seminar about cinema and a film screening.

Next is a screening for the animated film "Timo and Farfor," next is a seminar about stories and writers, finally is a seminar dedicated to children's talents with Wafaa El Hakim.

From 12 pm to 2 pm is a program dedicated to fine arts. It starts with a seminar hosted by renowned artist Dr. Salah Anani, followed by a Craquelure workshop with artist Nanis Ragaa', finally is an art critique session with Dr. Tarek Abdel Aziz.

From 2 pm to 4 pm is history and reading time. It starts with a seminar about Selim Hassan's "Mawsoet Misr" hosted by former Antiquities Minister Dr. Mamdouh Al Damati, followed by two sessions about Salwa Bakr's "Masrah Zoba," and "El Dalil" novel by Ahmed Sabri Tarabia.

From 4 pm to 6 pm is a talk about culture and philosophy. It starts with a seminar about Selim Hasan by Mohamed El Said Eid, and Dr. Tarek Maamon.

It will be followed by book reviews entitled "Aesthetics" by Dr. Reda Khalaaf and Booktubers seminar with Amr El Maa'dawi.

From 6 pm to 8 pm is poetry time, the poetry activities for the first day will be dedicated to iconic poet Ahmed Abdel Moati Hegazy.

From 8 pm to 10 pm is an open discussion with the Minister of Culture Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, followed by a tribute to Youssef Chahin.

At 10 pm, the final activity of the day kicks off. It is a play entitled "Al Motgawel." The play is written and directed by Ismail Ibrahim, and performed by Th Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts students.
