Today, China's National Meteorological Center issued warnings about rising temperatures across the country, while many southern provinces issued alerts for severe flooding due to heavy rainfall.
The center stated that the intense heat in northern China is expected to subside, affecting regions between the Yellow River and Huai River.
Temperatures are forecasted to reach between 37 to 39 degrees Celsius in parts of Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Henan provinces.
For the past seven days, heavy rains have been falling in Fujian province in southeast China, and it is expected to continue, causing water levels in some rivers to exceed warning levels.
Chinese state television reported that authorities in Guangxi province stated that water levels in some local rivers "have risen dramatically," and a student lost his life in floods in Guilin City in the south.
This situation highlights the ongoing challenges posed by extreme weather events in China, prompting proactive measures by local authorities to mitigate risks and ensure public safety.
