Celebrated Author Saed Al Kafrawy passed away yesterday at the age of 81 years old. A number of cultural institutions mourned the death of the unforgettable author such as the National Book Authority.
Born in 1939, Al Kafrawy was one of the few authors who mastered the art of writing the short story. He started his career with a number of iconic authors and writers such as Nasr Abu Zied, Mohamed Al Mansi Kandil, and Gaber Asfour.
His most famous works include, "Madient Al Mawt El Gamil" (The Beautiful Death City), "Kosh Lil Mosiqa" (Music Shop), and "Dawae'r Min Hanin" (Circles of Nostalgia).
He was awarded the State Award of Excellence and he got the Sultan Qaboos Prize for Short Story.
His "Motawei Wi Baheia" (Motawi and Baheia) was adapted to a film produced by Iraqi artists.
