Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Justin Trudeau on Monday urged Canadians to leave Lebanon, warning of a real risk of escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
Amid rising tensions in the region, Trudeau called on all Canadians to leave Lebanon while commercial flights are still available. He also noted that while preparations are being made to evacuate Canadians if the situation worsens, he warned that not everyone may be able to be evacuated.
Speaking at a press conference in Ontario, Trudeau said, "We see that the risk of escalation is real, and the challenges in the region are significant. We are making some preparations to provide support in case everything deteriorates, but the situation is so difficult that we may not be able to get all Canadians out."
