Canada-Egypt Parliamentary Friendship Group Re-launches New Composition

On Wednesday, Ahmed Abu Zeid, the Ambassador of Egypt to Canada hosted a dinner party at his residence in Ottawa, on the occasion of the re-launch of the Canada-Egypt Parliamentary Friendship Group in its new compositions.

The Egyptian ambassador expressed his great happiness at the re-composition of the Friendship Group during the new parliamentary session, with a membership of 30 parliamentarians from the most prominent members of the Canadian House of Commons and Senate, and from various political parties in Canada.

Abu Zeid revealed that the new composition of the Friendship Group reflects the importance of relations between Egypt and Canada, and the desire to continue improving them.

The Friendship Group’s membership includes Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Chairs of the House of Commons and Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Chair of the Senate Human Rights Committee, in addition to a distinguished elite of parliamentarians from the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party, the Bloc Party of Quebec, the Democratic Party, and the Green Party.
