On Wednesday, English reports, including The Guardian, revealed that the Royal invitations of King Charles III Coronation depicted Camilla, as Queen Camilla, not Queen Consort.
Queen Elizabeth wrote a few months before her death: “And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."
Camilla Parker-Bowles got married to King Charles III in 2005, and she became known as the Duchess of Cornwall.
After King Charles III ascended Queen Elizabeth II, Camilla became a Queen Consort.
The forthcoming change was teased last week when Camilla’s charity was rebranded as the “Queen’s Reading Room” rather than the “Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room.”
