Cakes are a great dessert especially when they are full of different flavors, milk and caramel. So, our guest today the Egyptian fashion designer Nagham El Naggar gave “See” her secrets to the delicious and creamy Tres Leches Cake.
• The cake
Ingredients
− 4 eggs with the egg whites and egg yolks separated.
− 1 cup of sugar (200 grams).
− 1 ½ cup of flour.
− 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
− 50 ml. of warm water.
Instructions
− Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt and beat the egg yolks with the sugar for 5 minutes before adding the water, beat again. Add the flour to the mixture and beat well.
− Add the egg whites to the mixture before pouring the batter in a parchment paper covered 30*30 baking pan.
− Place the baking pan in the oven for 20 minutes at 160 degrees then for 15 minutes at 180 degrees.
• The Milk Sauce
Ingredients
− 3 ½ cups of milk.
− 1 cup of cream.
− 3 spoons of sugar or condensed milk.
Instructions
− Pour the milk sauce on the cake when it’s done.
• The Caramel
Ingredients
− 1 cup of sugar.
− 1 cup of cream.
Instructions:
− Melt the sugar on medium heat till completely dissolved.
− Add the cream immediately before stirring fast and continuously.
After letting the cake cool, put a thin layer of whipped cream on top before adding a thin layer of caramel. Let it chill in the fridge for 3 to 6 hours at least before serving. Enjoy.
