Cairo International Airport Museum in Terminal 3 organized a temporary exhibition entitled "Mishkaat Thought and Civilization", within the framework of the events and activities organized by the Egyptian Museums Sector of the Supreme Council of Antiquities to celebrate the Hijri New Year.
The exhibition is scheduled to last for a month.
Wafaa Hamdy, Director General of the Museum, explained that the exhibition sheds light on the history of Islamic niches in Egypt, as it presents a collection of posters on the history of the niche, the art of its decorations, and its golden age, in both Arabic and English languages.
She added that the museum also organizes a workshop for children to train them on the art and methods of making Mishkaat using environmentally friendly materials. It also offers a set of souvenirs to its visitors to celebrate the new Hijri year.
It is worth mentioning that the Cairo International Airport Museum was opened in Terminal 3 in 2021 AD, to serve as the first gateway leading to the ancient history of Egypt, and even a window overlooking its special monuments and lofty civilization.
