Governor of Cairo Khaled Abdel-Al met with a delegation from UN-Habitat and members of the Coordination Committee of the Cairo World Urban Forum 2024.
During the meeting, Abdel-Al emphasized the significance of the World Urban Forum, which is considered the second most important global event on the United Nations agenda after the Climate Change Summit.
The Governor of Cairo underscored that the Egyptian government, along with all its ministries and agencies, is dedicated to adequately preparing for the upcoming Urban Forum.
On their part, the delegation members emphasized that Cairo is the most suitable location for the UN-Habitat conference, based on various criteria. These criteria include the country's ability to host the conference, its capabilities to provide subsistence, transportation, and logistics, as well as its prior experience in organizing conferences of similar size, level, and importance.
