Cairo International Airport authorities decided to revoke COVID-19 restrictions after recording the overall decline in coronavirus cases.

In a step intended to ease entry procedures for international travelers, Cairo airport authorities laid new entry instructions and measures for arrivals from abroad, according to domestic reports.

The reports revealed that the authorities of the airport received a notification from the Preventive Medicine Department at the Ministry of Health announcing that the filling of the traditional hard copy of the “Declaration Form” will not be needed anymore from Sunday.

The Health Ministry said earlier this week that the average of the daily new counts of COVID-19 cases has stood at 400, adding that the minister recorded 7 deaths during the past two months.

It's worth mentioning that Egypt announced in January new coronavirus-related measures at airports, seaports, and land crossings, with the country witnessing a significant surge in daily infections and reporting the highly infectious Omicron as the dominant variant currently.
