The Confederation of the African Football (CAF) decided to organize the second edition of the African Super League in September 2025, Moroccan Al Riyadiyah reported on Friday.
CAF organized the first edition of the tournament last October. It also witnessed the participation of eight teams, including Egypt's Al Ahly.
The eight teams were Al Ahly, Simba, Sundowns, Petro Atletico, Mazembe, Wydad, Enyimba, and ES Tunis.
Al Ahly were eliminated from the tournament after losing 1-0 in the away game, and had a 0-0 draw in the home game in the semi-final.
South African Sundowns captured the title of the first edition after defeating Wydad 3-2 in the final.
