The Confederation of African Football (CAF) picked on Sunday Al-Ahly President Mahmoud El-Khatib as an ambassador for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in Egypt from 21 June to 19 July.

Al-Ahly President was invited to attend the opening match of the upcoming showpiece tournament between Egypt and Zimbabwe on Friday 21, June at Cario Stadium at 22:00 pm CLT.
On January 8, CAF declared Egypt as the new host of the 2019 AFCON. Egypt, who have won the cup seven times, grabbed the opportunity after being granted 16 votes versus a single vote for its lonely rival South Africa.
It is worth mentioning that Egypt's national team were pooled in group A alongside Zimbabwe, Uganda, and DR Congo.
