Breaking: Ethiopia Thwarts Terrorist Plot in Several Regions

Ethiopia announced, on Friday, that it thwarted a terrorist plot by Tigray People's Liberation Front in several regions of the country.

The Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service revealed, in a statement, that it had managed to thwart a terrorist plot by an armed group affiliated to Oromo Liberation Front, in cooperation with some members of the Tigray People's Liberation Front.

“The plot was aimed at carrying out sabotage operations in several regions of Ethiopia to create a state of public disorder and incite violence,” according to the statement.

It added that the terrorist plot was thwarted in a joint operation carried out by the National Intelligence and Security Service, the Federal Police and the National Defense Forces.

Yesterday, Police Commission in Oromia region of Ethiopia announced the arrest of 503 people who were planning to carry out bombings and sabotage acts in Addis Ababa and the city of Bishoftu in the Oromia region (40 km from the capital).
