President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, met with the President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in Rio de Janeiro, during the G20 summit in Brazil. During the meeting, the two leaders spoke about the situation in the Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip, and they signed a “strategic partnership document.”
Brasil 247 Agency indicated that President Sisi spoke with his Brazilian counterpart on many international issues, such as reforming global governance, and highlighted the possibilities of cooperation in the industrial, defense and cultural fields.
Lula expressed his thanks for the generous hospitality he received in Egypt in February of this year, and invited President Sisi to visit Brazil in 2025 with a delegation of businessmen, and stressed his appreciation for the historical Egyptian role in supporting the Palestinian people, at a time when President Sisi also praised the Brazilian positions in support of the Palestinian cause.
The two leaders discussed the regional situation, where President Sisi reviewed Egyptian efforts to restore stability in the Middle East and reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The two parties agreed on the necessity of implementing the two-state solution and expanding international recognition of the Palestinian state.
