Media agencies cited Bloomberg on Saturday that more than 518 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been shot in 140 countries around the world. The report revealed that at 13.1 vaccine shots are being shot daily.
Concerning the US, the majority of the US citizens have been received at least the first shot of the vaccine, the total number of the given doses surpassed 137 million shots last week.
The report also shed the light on the war of the vaccines around the world amid the spread of more mutated variants of the Coronavirus such as the Brazilian, South African, and UK strains.
It is worthy to mention that on Friday, the European Union has decided to restrict the EU exports of the COVID-19 vaccine aiming to speed the vaccination rollout inside the bloc in the light of the COVID-19 third wave.
On the other hand, several giant medical firms such as Pfizer conducted trials to extend the horizons of vaccination to include children whose ages wander between six months and 12 years.
Also, Pfizer announced last week that the firm has started the earliest clinical trials for a new oral COVID-19 drug.
