Belgium has shut down a nuclear reactor at the Tihange Nuclear Power Plant following a malfunction in one of its distribution pumps.
The reactor operator, Engie, confirmed the shutdown and assured the public that there is no threat to human health or the environment.
The company stated that the malfunction occurred in a non-nuclear part of the reactor, and the security of the power supply remains unaffected.
Engie added that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the pump failure.
