Beijing to Accelerate Digital Technology Innovation

According to China Science Daily on Tuesday, Beijing, the Chinese capital, has announced an implementation plan to speed up the development of its digital economy.

Beijing will concentrate on cutting-edge technologies and future strategic requirements, according to the strategy, and encourage the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy.

Beijing will thus be ahead of the curve in terms of the design of a new generation of digital technological innovation. The city will invest in communication technologies such as next-generation information and communication networks, communication and artificial intelligence (AI) integration, satellite and ground networking integration, and communication network security.

According to the implementation plan, Beijing will also advance its research and development of 6G-related high-end semiconductors, core devices, and simulation and verification platforms.

A superconducting quantum computer and operating system, as well as quantum algorithms and application software, will be developed by the city. Beijing will accelerate the development of quantum circuits to a world-leading level.

According to the plan, the city will promote breakthroughs in large-scale blockchain, brain and brain-like information systems, central information processing, 3D biological analysis and simulation, DNA storage and computing, and human-computer intelligent interaction, as well as become more internationally influential and technologically leading in the fields of AI chips and deep learning.
