Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, held talks with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who is currently visiting Bahrain.
They urged the importance of working to achieve a ceasefire, protect civilians in the Gaza Strip, release hostages and detainees, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Strip in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Moreover, they underlined the necessity of finding a horizon for comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East region, and establishing a Palestinian state based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, as it is the best way to enhance security, stability, and peace in the region for the good of its peoples.
The course of Bahraini-American relations and ways to support the strong strategic cooperation between the two countries were also reviewed, in addition to exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
