Bahrain’s Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa passed away on Wednesday, according to Bahraini official’s announcement on Twitter.
The Bahrain News Agency said that Sheikh Khalifa passed away on Wednesday morning at the Mayo Clinic in the United States.
The statement added that the burial ceremony will take place upon its return to the country and that the funeral will be limited to a specified number of family members.
Bahrain declared the official mourning for a week.
