Bahrain approved on Saturday the emergency use of the anti-coronavirus drug 'Paxlovid' for adults 18 and over.
The drug will be used to treat adults suffering from mild to moderate symptoms, and those who are at an increased risk of developing severe COVID-19 that may lead to death.
The decision, taken by the National Health Regulatory Authority, is based on the review and evaluation of the data provided by "Pfizer".
The authority stated that the Ministry of Health started importing procedures, by the relevant standards and requirements. The drug is expected to arrive in January.
