The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that one of its soldiers was killed, in an attack by an Armenian "armed group" on Azerbaijani sites in Nagorno-Karabakh, according to Sputnik News agency.
In a press release, the ministry said, “on December 27, at approximately 3:30 pm, an illegal Armenian armed group of six members, attacked the Azerbaijani army units in the village of Agdam in the Khojavend district."
"As a result of the attack, a soldier was killed, and another one was wounded," the ministry added.
It is worth mentioning that, earlier this month, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia signed an agreement to end the military conflict over the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh.
It follows six weeks of fighting between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians.
