On Friday, the European Union approved a fifth package of sanctions against Russia amid Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine, which was launched on February 24th.
The UK announced new sanctions against Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the two daughters of Russian President Putin.
In the same context, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced a ban on Russian coal imports amid Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.
Kishida said he believes Russia has committed war crimes in its invasion of Ukraine.
“We will ban the imports of Russian coal, and Japan will secure alternative sources of energy.”
