The African Union Commission (AUC) praised MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein for his contribution to finding solutions to the continent's issues regarding the impact of COVID-19 on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) as well as start-ups.
This came during the participation of Abou El-Enein "the representative of Egypt", in a virtual meeting related to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy.
The productive, virtual meeting covered MSMEs in Africa and participants’ experiences in dealing with COVID-19, in addition to key recommendations that included the need to abolish taxes on SMEs and start-ups, extend credit repayment, as well as create support and guarantee funds.

Your insights on how the African Union Commission can work closely with its member states and the business community on multiple fronts during this pandemic generated great interest among out participants. We have received very positive feedback from attendees and we thank you for making the meeting a success," said Ndzana Olomo Patrick, Policy Officer Investments and Resources Mobilization African Union Commission.
"We welcome any comments and suggestions on how to make this experience better for future participants," he added, pointing out that the AU Commission team will communicate with Representative Abou El-Enein to review the basic matters that were included in the speakers ’presentations at the conference and the policy summary of the event, including the main messages and follow up.
