Assiut Youth Begin to Realize Their Dreams

On Tuesday, Dr Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, announced the accreditation of the graduates of “Start your dream” Workshop in Assiut governorate as a qualitative theater Troupe, generalizing this project to the various governorates of Egypt.

These decisions came during the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the initiative “Start your dream” in Assiut Culture Palace.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut, Dr. Ahmed Awad, head of the General organization of Culture Palaces, artist Ismail Mukhtar, head of the artistic house of theater, artist Hisham Atwa, the supervisor of the project, artist Ahmed El Shafei, head of the administration of the Artistic affairs, director Ahmed Taha, artistic director of “ start your dream project” in the governorates, poet Jamal Bakhit and Dr. Alaa Abdel Aziz, a member of the artistic committee, artist Karim Arafa and many popular and executive leaders in the governorate .

During the celebration, Abdel Dayem said that the Ministry of Culture is determined to continue implementing the various creative programs to create new generations of artists and enlightened personalities and to overcome the challenges facing the nation to achieve the targeted development.

Abdel Dayem indicated that the project “Start Your Dream” represents one of the axes of the strategy of discovering the talented people in all fields of creativity, it aims to consolidate the process of achieving cultural justice, especially in the governorates of Upper Egypt.

She expressed her happiness with the effective participation of the girls and the distinguished level of all the trainees and their courage to realize their dream, saying, "I am proud of you- sons of Assiut,".

She affirmed that the youth represents an expressive form of Egypt's soft power, describing the people of Upper Egypt as the inexhaustible treasure of creating talents. She thanked all the organizers of the project in southern Egypt.

It is worthy of note that the celebration included presenting: a short film about the graduates training stages, 3 theatrical performances for the graduates- including an innovative scene inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet, in addition to presenting a operetta for all the trainees entitled “Hila Hila ,” and a group song about Assiut Governorate.

Furthermore, the initiative in Assiut included 700 candidates of young men and women, 53 trainees were chosen - 24 girls and 29 men who were trained on various theater arts: acting - improvisation - writing - elements of theatrical performance.
