Armenian community in Egypt decided to donate one million pounds to the Tahya Misr Fund (Long Live Egypt), in order to participate in the country's efforts to confront the new coronavirus "COVID 19".
The Armenian community has granted the Egyptian Ministry of Immigration a donation, in the name of the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate in Cairo and Alexandria.
Nabila Makram, the Minister of Immigration, thanked the Armenian Egyptians for supporting the "Long Live Egypt" fund at this stage in which Egypt faces the threat of the spread of the new Coronavirus. Also, she praised them for their national roles.
The minister also praised the cooperation between peoples, which is what the ministry of Immigration is working on upgrading the role of communities in Egypt, referring to the celebration of "We are the Egyptian Armenians", organized by the Ministry to celebrate the Armenian community in Egypt.
She added that the "Armenian Egyptians" are part of the Egyptian national fabric and played an important role in Egypt's modern history. She said that they still contribute today to a significant way in strengthening relations between the two countries, so it is necessary to shed light on their contributions and the extent of their association with Egypt and retrieve their memories in it.
Makram renewed her invitation to all Egyptians abroad to participate in supporting poor Egyptian families as well as irregular employment, which was affected by the emergence of the new Coronavirus, through the account of the “Long Live Egypt” fund to face crises and disasters No. 037037 in all Egyptian banks and on the official website of the fund.
