On Thursday, the Arab Parliament (AP) called upon the international community to implement international justice standards to reach a final, just and definitive solution to the Palestinian question, based on ending the occupation of all Palestinian territories, establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, further to the right of return, and to solve the refugee issue and all final status issues.

This came on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day, where the AP emphasized that it represents an immortal memory that incarnates the struggle of the Palestinians to achieve their legitimate rights and defend the justice of their cause.

The AP reiterated the statement of Adel Bin AbdulRahman Alasoomi, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, at the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Indonesia, in which he criticized the double standards in dealing with the Palestinian question and the Ukrainian crisis, additionally to his demand for uniform global standards in dealing with all issues to pursue international justice.

The AP added that the commemoration of the Palestinian Land Day this year comes under dangerous circumstances in the Palestinian cause, notably the continuation by the occupying power of its settlement policies and the Judaization of the occupied city of Jerusalem. In that connection, the AP called upon the international community to assume its political, legal and ethical responsibility to reject and condemn settlement policies implemented by the occupying power in the occupied Palestinian territories, and stressed the need to put an end to these violations that contravene all resolutions of international legitimacy.

The AP reiterated its decisive position on support for the efforts and struggle of the Palestinians to restore their land and to obtain all their legitimate and inalienable rights which are guaranteed by law and international legitimacy; and stressed that the struggle of the Palestinian people represents a model of resilience and willpower based on right and justice.
