Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, will visit Beirut tomorrow, Monday, for a one-day visit to hold discussions with Lebanese leaders, according to Ambassador Hossam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League.
The Assistant Secretary General stated that the visit aims to consult with Lebanese leadership on ways to address the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which requires a minimum level of Lebanese understanding.
The visit also seeks to encourage progress on resolving the presidential vacancy, an issue that has become a critical priority for completing the constitutional leadership structure in the country, enabling Lebanon to confront the major challenges it is facing.
In addition, Aboul Gheit aims to assess Lebanon's stance on the humanitarian and relief efforts to support those displaced by the aggression, especially in light of the upcoming meeting in Paris on the 24th of this month, to which the Arab League has been invited to participate.
