Leading Egyptian company, Arab Contractors, won a bid to develop Tripoli Port and its different attachments, Egypt's ambassador to Lebanon Yasser Elwi announced on Thursday.
The ambassador said that this step proves Egypt's interest and care for assisting Lebanon and developing all its ports, especially, Tripoli.
Elwi's speeches came during his visit to the previously mentioned port, and he was received by Dr. Ahmed Hatim, the head of Tripoli Port, Mohamed Emam, Tripoli's Mufti, and the head of Tripoli's Economic Zone, alongside various Lebanese officials.
He highlighted that this step will be followed by various projects for enhancing Egypt's economic presence in Lebanon, especially in fields such as Technology transportation.
On his side, Hatim expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian aids to Lebanon after the tragedy of Beirut Port Explosion last August.
He also reflected his sincere happiness for Arab Contractors victory of the bid, in addition, he expects more cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon in the fields of port due to Egypt's wide experience in such a field.
