The Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed on Monday an explosive-laden drone launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia from Yemen, towards Saudi Arabia’s Khamis Mushait.
In a statement, the coalition forces have affirmed that the military operation came is in compliance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, according to Al-Arabiya news website.
It is worth mentioning that, 218 Houthi militia were killed, and 24 military vehicles were destroyed near the strategic city of Ma’rib, according to a statement issued by Arab Coalition.
The coalition had carried out 57 operations, targeting Houthis in Al-Jawba and Kassara villages in the past three days.
Last February, the Houthis began a major push to seize Marib and have renewed their offensive since September, France 24 reported.
In 2014, The Yemeni civil war began when the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa, 120 kilometers west of Marib, prompting Saudi-led forces to intervene to prop up the government the following year.
Tens of thousands of people have died and millions have been displaced in what the United Nations has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
