Apple is getting ready to unveil the iPad 11 in the coming months, marking the first update to its standard iPad lineup since October 2022.
It was reported that the new update will be limited, with key improvements focusing on internal performance.
The most significant change in the iPad 11 will be its processor. Reports indicate that Apple will transition from the A14 Bionic chip used in the iPad 10 to the A17 Pro, the same processor found in the iPhone 15 Pro.
The new processor is expected to be about 40% faster than its predecessor, providing a smoother experience in multitasking, gaming, and overall performance.
Additionally, Apple is said to be doubling the RAM from 4GB to 8GB, allowing more apps to run in the background without affecting performance.
This upgrade will also make the iPad 11 compatible with Apple's artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including features like Genmoji, Image Playground, and an enhanced Siri.
While some reports suggest that the iPad 11 will feature the A17 Pro processor, other leaks claim that the device might come with an A16 chip and 6GB of RAM, which means it wouldn't support Apple’s AI features.
Apple might launch two versions of the iPad 11 at different price points—one with the A16 chip for budget-conscious users and another with the A17 Pro for those seeking higher performance.
