Winter has begun and arrived along with it the need for warmth that is obtained by a slice of delicious cake, a cup of tea, and the gathering of the family.
Apple cinnamon cake is a favorite by many, read below to discover the method and ingredients for this delicious treat.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ripe apple, peeled and finely chopped
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Take a 9-inch round cake pan and lightly grease it to ensure the cake doesn't stick.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and oil. As you whisk, incorporate the cinnamon, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until it has a smooth blend.
Add the flour, followed by the salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix gently but ensure there are no dry pockets.
Delicately fold in the chopped apples and walnuts, ensuring they're distributed evenly throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into a greased pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven until a tester or toothpick inserted into the middle emerges clean, which should take around 45 minutes.
Cool & Serve:
Once baked to perfection, allow the cake to cool for about 15 minutes. Slice it into wedges and serve it up!
