Lebanese President Michel Aoun asserted on Wednesday that Lebanon has not any intentions to harm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) or any of Gulf countries.

He refuses that Lebanon could be “A transit point for what could harm the brotherly Arab countries in general, and Saudi Arabia and Gulf states in particular, given the strong ties which Lebanon binds with these countries.”

His statement came during his meeting with the Industry Minister Imad Hobballah with a senior delegation at the Presidential Palace.

“KSA is a brotherly country and we are interested in preserving the existing economic cooperation with it. Today, we are exerting great efforts to uncover the circumstances of what happened and put things back on the right track” the Lebanese President added.

On his side, Hobballah highlighted: “Protecting Saudi security is also our responsibility as Lebanese, and it should be achieved through cooperation with Saudi authorities.

Next, he expressed his hope to strengthen  the relations between Lebanon and KSA to control the boarders and goods exchange.

Furthermore, Lebanon looked forward to Saudi support to the Lebanese economy during this hard crisis.

Lebanon is still passing through fierce economic crisis, in addition to a rising political unrest.
