Antonov: US Is Not Trying to Stop War Crimes

Unlike the US, Russia tries its best to stop war crimes, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov stated.

The Russian Ambassador said the Russian military operation aims to disarm the Ukrainian Nazis and put an end to the genocide of civilians in Donbas. Russia, unlike the US, is doing its best to stop war crimes.

He responded to the words of US Deputy Secretary of Foreign Ministry Victoria Nuland about the alleged involvement of the Russian Federation in the death of thousands of Ukrainian citizens and the Russian military.

Antonov said that such cynical rhetoric is unacceptable.

"Washington should be held accountable for the destroyed cities and tens of thousands of human lives lost in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria," he added.

The Russian ambassador stressed the countless atrocities that have marked the course of the US and NATO that armed interventions are not limited to recent history.
