American actress-singer Anna Kendrick is collaborating with Lionsgate for the psychological thriller movie "Alice, Darling", which is now in production in Canada.

Kendrick previously collaborated with Lionsgate in 2018's dark comedy movie "A Simple Favor", which allocated nearly $100M worldwide.

The movie is penned by Alanna Francis and directed by Mary Nighy.

The production marks Nighy's first directorial debut.

The movie is centered around Alice (Kendrick) who is behaving strangely, keeping secrets about her mercurial boyfriend (Charlie Carrick) from her two best friends (Wunmi Mosaku and Kaniehtiio Horn). When the three friends take a girl’s trip out of town, all secrets are uncovered when a local girl goes missing and Alice’s boyfriend arrives unannounced.

"Alice, Darling" is a Babe Nation Films, Elevation Pictures, and Castelletto Films production. It is being made with the support of Ontario Creates and Urban Post and produced by Katie Bird Nolan, Lindsay Tapscott, Christina Piovesan, and Noah Segal.

Kendrick and Sam Tipper-Hale are serving as executive producers.

"Alice, Darling" Lionsgate will handle worldwide distribution of the movie, while Elevation is handling distribution in Canada.
