In a video podcast, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Friday for Russa to discuss the resumption of negotiations towards the latest issues between the two countries.
On the recent issues, Merkel said: "We continue to need dialogue with Russia," adding issues like the pandemic and global warming highlights the need for international cooperation."
Merkel's remarks came during the 80th anniversary of the invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany, according to recent international reports.
On this occasion, the German chancellor commemorated millions of victims, especially in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic states, and other former Soviet republics, when Adolf Hitler's forces invaded the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941.
