Lebanese political analyst Tawfik Shoman criticized storming the U.S. Capitol Wednesday by protesters supporting President Donald Trump.
“Trump is like the Middle East rulers. Winning elections reflects his popularity and the loss means fraud,” Shoman told SEE News on Wednesday.
The Lebanese expert pointed out that Trump is leading a “coup” against the US regime, including its election process, judiciary and media.
Dozens of people breached security perimeters at the Capitol and lawmakers inside the House chamber were told to put on gas masks as tear gas was fired in the Rotunda, according to US media reports.
Pro-Trump protesters clashed with police and forced a delay in the constitutional process to affirm President-elect Joe Biden's win.
