On Sunday, TV presenter Amr Adib was fined EGP 10,000 after insulting actor Mohamed Ramadan on his show.
The Sheikh Zayed Misdemeanor Court in Egypt dismissed a counter civil lawsuit against Adib, accusing him of insulting and defaming Ramadan.
Accordingly, defence lawyer, Tarek Gamil Saeed, affirmed that he "will file an appeal against the ruling in the case."
Saeed also claimed that the plaintiff tried to obtain a prison sentence against his client, but the court decided otherwise.
On the other hand, Ramadan's lawyer Ahmed El-Gendy demanded a compensation of 100,000 pounds. In addition, El-Gendy accused the TV presenter that he took advantage of his job and violated its principles just to become a trend on social media.
He stressed that the TV presenter tried to demonize Ramadan by directing spiteful words, and terrible insults.
