Amnesty International organization said today (Friday) that there is evidence that Russian forces committed war crimes, including executions of civilians, when they occupied an area outside the Ukrainian capital in February and March.
In a report, the human rights organization said that civilians also suffered from violations such as "reckless shooting and torture" by Russian forces during their attack on Kyiv in the early stages of the invasion that began on February 24, Reuters news agency reported.
"These are not isolated incidents," Donatella Rovera, Senior Adviser to Amnesty International's Crisis Programme, told a news conference in Kyiv.
She added that it is an essential feature of a certain pattern that Russian forces follow when they control a town or village.”
